Beaches Alternative School is a public school in the TDSB. There are no admission criteria but admission is by lottery. The TDSB uses a centralized application process. All applications to TDSB Elementary Alternative Schools are via this process. Here is the link: Elementary Alternative Schools Application and Admission webpage.

Before you decide if you’d like to apply to Beaches, we strongly encourage you to get to know what our school and community are all about, so you can see if it’s the right fit for your family. Our in-person Information Night was held MONDAY, January 22, 2024. Visiting families heard from students, parents, teachers, and our principal about what it’s like to be part of the Beaches community.

Our school is small and enrolment numbers are limited by class size. There are a maximum of 10 spaces for JK each year, accessible only via lottery. Our admissions guidelines follow the TDSB ‘Out of Area Admissions’ policy (formerly ‘Optional Attendance’ policy). For SK through Grade 5, the number of vacant spots also vary year to year depending on returning students’ enrolment. Our school doesn’t have a catchment area, so anyone with a postal code beginning with ‘M’ is welcome to apply. Please note that there is no bussing or transportation to or from Beaches available, so families must be able to get their kids to and from school.
